Having broken a number of bones, including my right leg twice, and following a handful of surgeries my already poor posture suffered. By the age of 30 I had a limp, a noticeable scoliosis and a frozen shoulder. I was stiff and in pain.
It was at this point I stumbled across Pilates, the benefits of which have far exceeded my expectations. Progressively working to correct imbalances, build strength, suppleness and sensitivity I have developed confidence in my ability to positively affect my own physical and mental health and to function free of injury and pain.
Since qualifying with Body Control Pilates I have studied and practiced a number of other insightful movement disciplines, with a view to combining the best of East and West, of ancient wisdom and modern understanding. Outside of teaching I love spending time with my children, walking, swimming and training with my partner, Sam (www.sussextaichi.co.uk).
As a life-long horse rider I have a particular interest in working with riders and am currently doing a Post. Grad. Cert. in Equestrian Rehabilitation and Performance at Hartpury University.
