Pilates develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong posture, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind and elevates the spirit
Having broken multiple bones, I was told I may not walk again. Following a handful of surgeries, my already poor posture suffered, and by the age of 30 I had a limp, a noticeable scoliosis and a frozen shoulder. I was stiff and in pain.
It was at this point I stumbled across Pilates, the benefits of which have far exceeded my expectations. Progressively working to balance symmetry, strength, suppleness and sensitivity, I have developed confidence in my ability to positively affect my own physical and mental health and function free of chronic injury and pain.
Since completing my initial teacher training with Body Control Pilates® I have gained my Matwork Master teacher and Back4Good qualifications and am a supervising teacher. I have also trained in and practised a number of other movement modalities; with a view to combining the best of East and West, ancient wisdom and modern understanding. Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my children, hiking, swing dancing and training with my partner Sam, www.sussextaichi.co.uk. I am a lifelong horse rider and continue to train regularly.
